This was the second year in a row that the program received the award. The honors are given to radio and television stations for excellence in broadcasting in multiple categories. This year’s entries were judged by the Kentucky broadcasters.

Inside Shale is a weekly one hour talk show heard on several radio stations within the Marcellus Shale drilling region. The show is sponsored by the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association. Hosted by West Virginia Radio Corporation Market Manager, Gary Mertins, the program airs every Tuesday morning 9am-10am. Guests this past year have included many politicians including West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and Congresswoman Shelly Moore Capito as well as dozens of operators and natural gas industry experts.
